Why Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is Vital When the Patient is On a Drug Therapy Regimen

In too many instances, a therapist will write out prescriptions for their patient with a sentiment of, “Now off you go.”

As a business practice, that is not healing the whole person.  The individual also requires Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a hybrid treatment approach to learn new thinking skills/keep them on track to foster –

  • Even though they have a mental health issue, they are not a mental health issue;
  • Gain clarity;
  • Elevate self-esteem;
  • Continue with interests, hobbies, activities.  Life;
  • They are a good person;
  • Remove aloneness–they are not the only one experiencing a mental health difficulty;
  • Maintain/begin nutritional diet and exercise routine;
  • Continue goal pursuits;
  • Difficulties can nurture emotional and mental strength, and
  • Becoming mentally proactive in handling life challenges.
